Sayyed Morteza Avini was born in 1947 in Rey, south of Tehran. He earned a master's degree in architecture from Tehran University prior to the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979.he was an Iranian photographer and documentary film-maker of the Iran-Iraq war.
